Claire Stone
Little Hey Little Hi, I’m Claire. Yeah.. That’s pretty much it I’m just messing. I’m a little shy at introductions. And for good reasons. I’ll let you know how much I like Pokémon. I’ll admit I spend an embarrassing amount of time on meme websites. That I’m always really busy but I’m never really sure what I’m doing exactly. Or that my favourite dreams have dragons in them. What I should tell you is people often describe me as polite and caring. It’s in my nature to be positive. And whatever else I do – I try. Get to know me better J My personal blog www.theclairethatcares.wordpress.com |

Tomás M. Creamer
Tomás is a 2nd year Arts student, studying History and Geography. Hailing from Co. Leitrim, he goes by the English version of his name for all official and day-to-day purposes, but uses “Tomás M. Creamer” in his writing.
While his keen interest in politics forms the core of his journalistic output, he also has casual interests such as video games, movies and literature – been painfully aware that politics is not the hot topic for many. Despite – or because of – his introverted nature, Tomás has his fingers in many pies; on top of his duties as the Vice Auditor of the Journalism Society, he is also a writer for NUIG’s Student newspaper, SIN, a Contributor at Campus.ie, an OCM of the Literary and Debating Society, and a somewhat active blogger at http://www.mossyarigna.wordpress.com. After full-time education, Tomás will be considering career options in Journalism, Public Administration, or Teaching, depending on the opportunities that arise. Tomás is a somewhat infrequent user of the twitter handle, @TMCreamer, and can be contacted at the little envelope. |
Heather Robinson
Hey all you lovely people! I’m Heather Robinson and a student in NUIG studying journalism. I am secretary of the society and currently blog editor. I’m really big on new experiences and adventure and trying to see the bright side. I actually love cooking, planning parties and doing whimsical things like trying to row a boat and picnics. I even write a blog all about it, check out thesummerthatwas.wordpress.com if you're interested. I do a lot of volunteering work, baking and worrying about things that usually turn out fine. But more than anything, I love my friends because they really are the family you choose for yourself. Build your family wisely. Other possibly useful links: |
Cathy Lee
Cathy Lee, second year journalism and arts student for her SINs (pun intended). Has a real passion and enthusiasm for journalism and would like to pass that attitude on to anyone that’d take the time to listen. When she’s not being crazy into journalism-pushing, she spends her nights in charge of a writers’ society with friends where games are played while poetry and stories are heard. She loves Galway and the freedoms of college and expresses herself better through writing than any other form. With a keen interest in news and feature writing, Cathy, PRO of the journalism society is ready and waiting to make your acquaintance.
But before that day, why not give her a stalk now? Blog: https://cathyinconversation.wordpress.com/ |
Chelsea Tabert
Chelsea is in the second year of her arts degree studying Journalism, Philosophy, and Sociological and Political Sciences. Although she is a foreigner to Ireland, this Canadian girl has a passion for current affairs, and international relations.
When she’s not avidly searching the globe for stories, she is forever in search for the perfect cup of tea, reading an old novel, or on a Netflix binge in the dark depths of her abyss – her bedroom. Chelsea has been writing for NUI Galway’s newspaper, Sin, for two years now and is the International/National News editor. Some would say her dashingly impressive personality and huge brain are what got her the position of editor, but Chelsea’s not quite that vain - she would disagree. Chelsea does not enjoy writing in the third person and contemplated paying someone off to write it for her. Chelsea feels like Gollum speaking like this – naughty hobbitesses. Chelsea has contributed to several newspapers in Canada, and has interned with CTV and Global News. If she survives college, she is looking forwards to pursuing a job as a foreign correspondent, perhaps in Asia or the Middle East. After making herself sound like an incredibly isolate person, she might add that she genuinely has friends… that she may or may not pay.
